Xinjiang - To See a Waterfall

We hired a young Kazakh and his grandpa to take us to a waterfall that was three mountains away and only accessible by foot or horseback. We rode for hours while everyone else waited for us in the tent, and I remember at some point we started to wonder whether this waterfall really existed.

Granted when we finally saw the waterfall, it was not exactly spectacular, but the scenery we savored on our way riding there made it worthwhile. And afterwards Alan and I enjoyed the tent and a full table of Uyghur dishes ourselves.

Those, were good times.
